Scenes from O’Reilly ETCon 2002 : Global Nerdy

https://www.globalnerdy.com/2026/01/11/scenes-from-oreilly-etcon-2002/
This little trove of photos is entirely Anil Dash’s fault. He recently made a blog post titled How Markdown Took Over the World with a “hero image” featuring a 2002-era iMac setup — the G4 model, which Jony Ive described as the answer to the question “What computer would the Jetsons have had?”

This is where I write my Journal on my iPhone | Phong's blog

The flow of journaling feels effortless and light. Take a few photos, record a few videos, jot down a few thoughts underneath, put the phone down to fully enjoy the moment, come back later and write down some new feelings or thoughts, then move on with life. What’s important is to be honest with myself and live in the moment.

Pikachoose jQuery Image Gallery

http://pikachoose.com
"Pikachoose is a lightweight Jquery plugin that allows easy presentation of photos with options for slideshows, navigation buttons, and auto play. Pikachoose is designed to be easily installed, easy to setup, and well… all around easy. Creating an image gallery shouldn’t be a complex thing. I’ve created a new plugin that I’m packaging with PikaChoose called SliderJS. "

Rode past here every day I worked at Yahoo "I lived in Silicon Valley for 30 years, and I passed this intersection all the time. I finally stopped by this week, and got some pictures of the first building Atari occupied. This is the building where Pong was born. It has a small office in the front, with a workshop and roll-up door in the back. It's the office on the corner of the building. 2962 Scott Blvd in Santa Clara."

Do Tags Work?

http://www.tekka.net/10/tags.html
If you can get past the rambling paragraphs of awkward fun-poking at tags interspersed with library science / web 2.0 / cultural references—as well as a discovery of what, you know, Flickr is all about—there's a well-embellished and obsessively-assembled statistical analysis of tags vs title vs notes in finding photos featuring tourist heel-spinning on the testicles of a bull mosaic in Milan. My impression is that she's missed the point of tags, but I'm having trouble reducing the impression to a critique.

Digital Imaging: Photographs Enhance Video in Absolutely Unbelievable Ways

http://gizmodo.com/5038183/photographs-enhance-video-in-absolutely-unbelievable-ways
"Essentially, you shoot some crappy, low-rez video of a still scene. You then reshoot the same scene with a digital camera (with higher resolution). Software can automagically combine these images to upconvert the video AND fix problems in the image— all while compensating for 3D space."

Rosemarie fiore - "Tempest 1"

Long exposure photograph of Tempest. Disappointingly, it seems to be from an emulator's raster display rather than an original vector display.
