About Us | The Digital Game Museum

http://www.digitalgamemuseum.org/about-us/
Our office and collection storage in at 3553 Ryder Street, Santa Clara, CA. We don’t have enough space to put up exhibits, so we show exhibits at events like Maker Faire Bay Area, PAX Prime, and others, and we place small exhibits in interesting places. We hope to move to a space that will include changing exhibits and game play space in the near future. To do that, we need your financial support and the support of corporations. Can you help?

It’s just such a bummer to see a place that I remember as openminded, laid back, creative, nonjudgmental erupting with all this anger, everyone pointing fingers, blaming people that really aren’t to blame. Come on, guys. You’re better than this.

"Caltrain has gone broke and will likely need to wipe out half its service — including weekend, nighttime and midday trains — officials warned Thursday, bracing passengers for a major shake-up to the popular commuter line that links San Francisco to the South Bay. "This is not an April Fools' joke," Caltrain CEO Mike Scanlon told the agency's board of directors. "This is real. We're at a watershed moment where there's a possibility this railroad could go away.""

Pez Suing Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia

http://laughingsquid.com/pez-suing-burlingame-museum-of-pez-memorabilia
"Pez Candy Inc. is suing the Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia over copyright infringement. The suit, filed last week, claims that the museum deceives the public into believing they are operating under the authority of Pez and asks that the museum’s 7 foot tall replica of Pez dispenser be destroyed. The lawsuit also takes issue with the museum’s sales of toy truck Pez dispensers which had been modified with Obama and McCain logos during last years elections. The museum has been opened since 1995 and is said to be the only place in the world were you can see every Pez dispenser ever made."

Rode past here every day I worked at Yahoo "I lived in Silicon Valley for 30 years, and I passed this intersection all the time. I finally stopped by this week, and got some pictures of the first building Atari occupied. This is the building where Pong was born. It has a small office in the front, with a workshop and roll-up door in the back. It's the office on the corner of the building. 2962 Scott Blvd in Santa Clara."

Charlie's Diary: A revolting proposition

http://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/2008/11/a_revolting_proposition.html
"Here's a good diagnostic test for whether a proposed law is bigoted: if it applies to a group of people, replace the subject group in question with "Jews" or "Blacks", and see how it reads. If Adolf Hitler or the Grand Cyclops would approve, then it's a fair bet that there's something fishy about it. In the case of Proposition 8, how would you vote if it read, "Only marriage between Christians is recognized in California"? Or "Only marriage between white-skinned people is recognized in California"? "

In Defense of Marriage - Anil Dash

http://dashes.com/anil/2008/10/in-defense-of-marriage.html
"It's fun! It doesn't have to be full of bullshit and drama like your single life. It reduces your sense of obligation. It's so much less work to go out. The Ball and Chain is for Losers. Married people are hot and getting hotter. You can just say "screw everybody else" sometimes. You can have sex whenever you want. You become less of an asshole."

Judge says UC can deny religious course credit

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/08/12/BAQT129NMG.DTL&tsp=1
"A federal judge says the University of California can deny course credit to applicants from Christian high schools whose textbooks declare the Bible infallible and reject evolution. ... Rejecting claims of religious discrimination and stifling of free expression, U.S. District Judge James Otero of Los Angeles said UC's review committees cited legitimate reasons for rejecting the texts - not because they contained religious viewpoints, but because they omitted important topics in science and history and failed to teach critical thinking."

Northwest Florida Daily News: Calif. lawmakers vote to give presidential electoral votes to nation's popular vote winner

http://www.nwfdailynews.com/articleArchive/aug2006/californiapopularvote.php
"The California Legislature passed a bill that would give California's 55 electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, rather than the candidate who captured the state _ but for now, the measure stands a slim chance of becoming reality."
