This is a solo journaling RPG about the knowledge of the walls. You play it by yourself in the dark. As you draw cards, you’ll be directed to prompts to write as the P.I. trying to solve a mystery. Throughout the game, you’ll draw cards from your constructed Whispers Deck to learn what the walls, ceiling and floors are telling or showing you, keep notes on what you think it all means and ultimately conclude the truth. A session takes between 15 and 60 minutes and is highly replayable. Each session is unique.

Odysseus was a groundbreaking larp production that was originally run in 2019 and again as remastered version in 2024. The Collective Ambition Behind Odysseus, a Game-changing Sci-fi Larp  – mssv

https://mssv.net/2025/03/19/the-collective-ambition-behind-odysseus/
Last year, hundreds of players inhabited a spaceship on the run, scrambling to keep one step ahead of the enemy. The sci-fi larp Odysseus was inspired by Battlestar Galactica’s “33“, but where that episode only lasted 45 minutes, Odysseus’ players worked, fought, ate, and slept in-game for fifty non-stop hours.

Remember When You Could Order Dungeons And Dragons From The Sears Wish Book? (1984) | The Retroist

I came to play Dungeons and Dragons a little later than most and as I look at the prices for the likes of the Player’s Handbook and Monster Manual…I think I know now what the first thing I need to do is when I finally invent that time machine.

Hands-on: D&D on the Microsoft Surface

http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/02/10/hands-on-dd-on-the-microsoft-surface
"I just returned from the Microsoft campus (well, I stopped for a panini), where students from Carnegie Mellon University are showing off their awesome project, a version of D&D that runs on the Surface. Now, before you start rolling your eyes, just recognize that this isn’t just a holy grail for tabletop gaming nerds. I mean, it’s that too, but really it’s a proof of concept that shows how fun and intuitive something like this can be, and how accessible a team can make it. I honestly think that if they had these things scattered around like Golden Tee cabinets, they’d get a huge following. "

Realm Of The Mad God | Rock, Paper, Shotgun

"Okay, I am just working through game links here, so apologies for the volley of random Flash game links. This one is extra-plus awesome however, and discovered via the ultra-fertile sediment that is the TIGSource forums. Realm Of The Mad God is a “massively co-op fantasy adventure”, and that means acutely lo-fi multiplayer killing of ghosts and stuff, helping random people as you progress. You put in a name, choose a class, and off you go. It’s as basic as it could possibly be, and completely superb."

Infovore » Playing Together: What Games Can Learn from Social Software

"MMO servers are currently limited by technological sizes. But what does a server where you know everybody (even a little) look like? What if we limited group sizes for social, not technological reasons? ... We wouldn’t have these servers that resemble sprawling cities; we’d build villages, and hamlets, and travelling camps. And as they grew too big, or small groups within the community grew, they’d break off and move to places where there’s more space for them. In one sense, that’s a more natural metaphor for our users, and it’s a scale that makes sense for them. ... I like this idea that everything, fundamentally, happens at a group level."

"A new role-playing game (RPG) mocking Internet culture is staking its own piece of the gaming pie. Forumwarz satirizes the flamewars, comment trolls and gibberish phraseology you’re bound to see in every corner of the Web. "

Werewolf

"Werewolf is a simple game for a large group of people (seven or more.) It requires no equipment besides some bits of paper; you can play it just sitting in a circle. I'd call it a party game, except that it's a game of accusations, lying, bluffing, secon
