https://feedsmith.dev/
Fast, all‑in‑one JavaScript feed parser and generator for RSS, Atom, RDF, and JSON Feed, with support for popular namespaces and OPML files. Feedsmith offers universal and format‑specific parsers that maintain the original feed structure in a clean, object-oriented format while intelligently normalizing legacy elements. Access all feed data without compromising simplicity.

What RSS Needs

RFC5005 - Feed Paging and Archiving

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc5005.html

Add - DateTime stamp when user added video to his/her favorites - YouTube - Issue 110 - gdata-issues - Google Code

http://code.google.com/p/gdata-issues/issues/detail?id=110#c24
Holy crap - this bug is fixed? If so, it means that YouTube favorites feeds now reflect when a video was made favorite, not when the video itself was changed. "For V2 the atom:published and atom:updated reflect the time the favorite was added. There is a new tag inside of called that gives the datetime that the video was uploaded."

"You go to your favorite Web 2.0 search engine and set up a query like http://web20.example.com/search=john+doe&ouptut=atom and search for "john doe," but rather than getting back results as the usual HTML web page, you get it back in Atom format."

"I have a funny feeling that I will be the last blogger who writes untitled posts. Even Dave has left, and the Atom folks have written us out of the specification (title is required in Atom 1.0). Boo hoo. We still exist, by the way."

Reuse

I really like Atom, but... tell me again why it doesn't look like this? I suspect there are very good reasons, but...?

Only transform

"f those Atom people were really smart, they'd publish a whole catalogue of stylesheets: Atom-to-RSS0.92, Atom-to-RSS1.0, Atom-to-RSS2.0, Atom-to-WordprocessingML ... and probably offer a free transformation utility too."

Supporting Atom is not catastrophic, or even all that much effort.
