USB Host Shield 2.0 for Arduino « Circuits@Home

http://www.circuitsathome.com/products-page/arduino-shields/usb-host-shield-2-0-for-arduino
This is revision 2.0 of USB Host Shield. Thanks to new interface layout it is now compatible with more Arduinos – not only UNO and Duemilanove, but also big Mega and Mega 2560 work with Standard variant of this shield out of the box. No more SPI re-wiring and code modifications – just solder included stackable connectors (2×3 ICSP connector’s female side should be facing down), plug and play!

Solving the pseudonym problem in social networks

I like it. The "real name" thing will probably still get people excited. Maybe "is this a legal name" yes/no, but that's just wording. Or maybe, it defaults to yes, and power users can go in and edit it along with the other common names section. I would think that tying pseudonym's to real names (optionally) would be even better for Google. The main problem is, I have NO IDEA how Google can "gracefully" back down from this.

Garduino Geek Gardening — DIY How-to from Make: Projects

http://makeprojects.com/Project/Garduino-Geek-Gardening/62/1
I wanted to start gardening, but I knew I wouldn’t keep up the regular schedule of watering the plants and making sure they got enough light. So I recruited a microprocessor and a suite of sensors to help with these tasks. An Arduino microcontroller runs my indoor garden, watering the plants only when they’re thirsty, turning on supplemental lights based on how much natural sunlight is received, and alerting me if the temperature drops below a plant-healthy level. For sensors, the Garduino uses an inexpensive photocell (light), thermistor (temperature), and a pair of galvanized nails (moisture).
