Live Coding Techno With Strudel | Hackaday

https://hackaday.com/2025/10/16/live-coding-techno-with-strudel/
The super talented [Switch Angel] is an electronic music artist, with a few cool YouTube videos to show off their absolute nailing of how to live code with Strudel. For us mere mortals, Strudel is a JavaScript port of TidalCycles, which is an algorithmic music generator which supports live coding, i.e. the music that is passed down to the synthesizer changes on-the-fly as you manipulate the code. It’s magical to watch (and listen!) to how you can adapt and distort the music to your whims just by tweaking a few lines of code: no compilation steps, hardly any debugging and instant results.

The live coding scene has been growing over the years. Despite this, for many the idea of watching someone create music in code might not have an immediate appeal, though live coders are now playing at top night clubs, experimental music venues, and festivals. As the world becomes more code literate it is likely to become more popular.

wrightwriter/Bonzomatic-Compute: Live shader coding tool and Shader Showdown workhorse

https://github.com/wrightwriter/Bonzomatic-Compute
This is a live-coding tool, where you can write a 2D fragment/pixel shader while it is running in the background. It's a fork of Bonzomatic that add network communication (WebSocket Server). The goal is to send a shader as text across a network and receive it somewhere else for display. The shader is send when you ask for compilation (ctrl+r) and also at regular updates (interval can be set in config.json) Bonzomatic can be launched as "sender" or as "grabber" if you want to send your shader or visualize a distant shader.
