They built a system that treats your attention as an extractable resource. The most radical thing you can do is refuse to be extracted. Close the tab. Use RSS. Let the bounce rate speak for itself. These are vanity metrics until enough people stop vanishing into them and then suddenly they become a crisis.

Nothing Feels Authentic Anymore Because Everything is an Ad
https://hannahglenn.substack.com/p/nothing-feels-authentic-anymore-because
I have an ever increasing feeling that something is off. I find myself feeling skeptical, cynical. Weary of whatever I encounter. Feeling like nothing is authentic or genuine.

Samsung confirms its $1,800+ fridges will start showing you ads
https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-confirms-smart-refrigerator-ads-are-coming-3598848/

It doesn’t seem like users can entirely turn off ads, which is a shame. Disconnecting the fridge from the internet might stop the ads, but you will also inevitably lose out on several smart features you paid for. If you have a Samsung refrigerator with a door display, let us know in the comments how your experience has been with them, and how you feel about ads coming to them.

Because for now it’s insane. Presenting good articles in the hope of attracting readers, and then making the site do everything it can to shoo away those readers, is plumb nuts.
