Irreducible

https://irreducible.io/blog/porting-doom-to-wasm/
Anyways… I’ve reached the point that my VM is fully compliant with version 2.0 of the WebAssembly core specification, and I need a large program to stress test it with. The obvious choice for this sort of thing is a DOOM port. For those unaware, DOOM runs on just about every computing environment under the sun. For every calculator, satellite, or turing-complete system, there’s likely a software engineer theorizing about how to get DOOM running on it.

I made my VM think it has a CPU fan | mindless-area

Some malware samples are known to do various checks to determine if they are running in a virtual machine. One of the common checks is to look for the presence of certain hardware components that are typically not emulated in virtualized environments. One such component is the CPU fan.

leaningtech/webvm: Virtual Machine for the Web

https://github.com/leaningtech/webvm
WebVM is a server-less virtual environment running fully client-side in HTML5/WebAssembly. It's designed to be Linux ABI-compatible. It runs an unmodified Debian distribution including many native development toolchains. WebVM is powered by the CheerpX virtualization engine, and enables safe, sandboxed client-side execution of x86 binaries on any browser. CheerpX includes an x86-to-WebAssembly JIT compiler, a virtual block-based file system, and a Linux syscall emulator.

SqueakJS by Bert Freudenberg

http://bertfreudenberg.github.io/SqueakJS/
SqueakJS executes Squeak in a web page without a plugin. It is a fully capable virtual machine implemented in pure JavaScript running unmodified Squeak images. Squeak is a modern implementation of Smalltalk, the original dynamic object-oriented programming environment. It runs bit-identically on virtually any platform, and now in the web browser, too.

progrium / gitreceive

https://github.com/progrium/gitreceive
Creates an ssh+git user that creates repositories on the fly and lets you run scripts or hit HTTP endpoints when you push code. Build your own Heroku. Push code anywhere. It's just not a post-receive hook. It's a powerful wrapper around pre-receive giving you easy access to the code that was pushed while still being able to send output back to the git user.

Duplicated Virtual Machines Have Same IP Address (View topic) • virtualbox.org

"Ok, that Ubuntu issue is a known problem. It saves the assignment of MAC ethX using an udev rule. Have a look at /etc/udev/rules.d and you will find a file 70-persistent-net.rules there. You can savely remove this file. This file is auto-generated by /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules. You can remove that file as well. From now on, the guest will no longer store the assignment between the MAC and ethX interface."
