AI is impressive because we’ve failed at semantic web and personal computing | exotext

My point is that if all knowledge were stored in a structured way with rich semantic linking, then very primitive natural language processing algorithms could parse question like the example at the beginning of the article, and could find the answer using orders of magnitude fewer computational resources. And most importantly: the knowledge and the connections would remain accessible and comprehensible, not hidden within impenetrable AI models.

Tags: #al #knowledge #llms #semantic #semweb #web

"The future of semantic markup is the tunnelling of semantics, unseen, inside harmless looking, presentation-oriented XHTML."

Tags: #microformats #semweb #xhtml #xml

"The future of structured content in my opinion is content tunnelled inside human readable content. *Not* machine readable content that can be converted/published for human readability."

Tags: #microformats #semweb #xhtml #xml

"Structurally, XHTML 1 wasn't enough for some content applications, and DocBook—even DocBook Lite—was often too much.
