The GOP can no longer avoid its Rush Limbaugh problem - The Washington Post

What we are saying is that Mr. Limbaugh has abused his unique position within the conservative media to smear and vilify a citizen engaged in the exercise of her First Amendment rights, and in the process he debased a national political discourse that needs no further debasing. This is not the way a decent citizen behaves, much less a citizen who wields significant de facto power in a major political party. While Republican leaders owe no apology for Mr. Limbaugh’s comments, they do have a responsibility to repudiate them — and him.

Tags: #contraception #gop #imported:pinboard #politics #republicans #rushlimbaugh

"Take it from me. Rush Limbaugh wants you to think he's a dumbass, a pea-brain, an absolute yutz. It's a con job. Don't fall for it."

Tags: #politics #radio #rushlimbaugh

"Actor Michael J. Fox jokes that he may be short in stature, but he's still enough of a "big boy" to withstand criticism over his backing of embryonic stem cell research"

Tags: #fox #health #medicine #michaeljfox #politics #rushlimbaugh #stemcells

Shakespeare's Sister - “Limbaugh's words are just sounds carrying an emotion”

"Limbaugh is just one of many loathsome characters who have made names for themselves by treating politics as a game, a fun and profitable little pastime that has no real-world consequences"

Tags: #fox #michaeljfox #politics #rushlimbaugh #stemcells

The Moderate Voice - Bush Meets To Keep Talk Radio Hosts In Line

"We're in an age where partisans can be mentally programmed to look approvingly on events, job performances and position changes that they would not normally accept and to look away at some untidy matters that may occur, or openly rationalize them away."

Tags: #bush #politics #republicans #rushlimbaugh #talkradio
