Python Package Index : django-app-plugins 0.1.1

"A template extension system for marking points in your django templates as 'plugin-points', and providing plugins which inject themselves at those points. Multiple applications can be injected at each plugin point, and 'registered' plugin-points can have the visibility, order and access of the plugins controlled via DB models. This control can be done on a site wide or per-user basis. Thus you can allow users to add, remove, and reorder the plugins on their profile page for instance."

Tags: #django #plugins #python #webdev

Built from source. » Blog Archive » Detecting plugins in Internet Explorer (and a few hints for all the others)

"The problem is that no one quite knows what to look for when dealing with Internet Explorer’s plugins. Plugins in IE are ActiveX-based, so there’s no single API for them all—each has its own method of returning, for example, version information. What this basically means is that while Firefox and other browsers are putting all of their plugin information in one handy place, Internet Explorer is jealously guarding its plugin-related secrets. It’s like the Dick Cheney of browsers. And we are, um, the Information Security Oversight Office in that analogy.

Er… let’s just jump right in with some working detection cod"

Tags: #MSFT #detection #internetexplorer #msie #plugin #plugins #webdev

"jQuery pageSlide was inspired by the UI work of Aza Raskin. In his recent posts regarding concepts for Firefox Mobile and a mouse-based Ubiquity, Aza introduced the idea of sliding (or "throwing") content aside to reveal a secondary content pane."

Tags: #jquery #pageslide #plugins #ui #webdev
