Scripting News: Outlining and my father

So now I'm on the cusp of releasing a tool that allows you to write directly onto the web in an outliner. The distance between the content on your machine and it being on the web is one mouse-click. That's exactly how far you want it to be. My father is not alive to see this, but if he were, he'd probably die from excitement. This is something he and I shared, at a genetic level, in our DNA, is this idea that the human mind can reach outside of itself, onto a computer, to make even more powerful and useful intellectual structures. Honestly, I wish he were here to share this with me. permalink

Tags: #davewiner #imported:pinboard #outlines #outlining #web #webdev

What is it like to write a technical book? at Xaprb

"I would say that avoiding the temptation to write, and outlining in fanatical detail, is a very high-value activity for writing a book that’s hierarchically organized like this. "

Tags: #books #outlining #tech #writing

Twitter + Outlining = Instant Outlining NG? "Then it occurred to me that Twitter and the outlining tool would probably be nice when used together, which led me to wonder if Twitter had an API, which it turns out it does."

Tags: #io #outlining #twitter
