Overview | MCP230xx GPIO Expander on the Raspberry Pi | Adafruit Learning System

While the Raspberry Pi packs and awful lot of punch for the price, and it's fairly flexible where HW expandability is concerned, there are situations where you might want a bit more basic digital IO. Thankfully, it's an easy problem to solve with an I2C-enabled device like the MCP23008 (for an extra 8 GPIO pins) or the MCP23017 (for an extra 16 GPIO pins). This tutorial will show you how you can get up and running quickly with either of these chips.

Tags: #electronics #imported:pinboard #io #raspberrypi

HowTo: The Instant Outline Tool

"The Instant Outline Tool for the OPML Editor allows a group of people to communicate using an outline to reflect each person's status. You have two windows -- one where you edit your outline, and the other where you view the outlines of all your buddies, the members of your workgroup."

Tags: #friendfeed #instantoutliner #io #opml #outlines

Twitter + Outlining = Instant Outlining NG? "Then it occurred to me that Twitter and the outlining tool would probably be nice when used together, which led me to wonder if Twitter had an API, which it turns out it does."

Tags: #io #outlining #twitter
