Hi, I'm bleeptrack, a freelancing creative technologist, and I love generative stuff of all sorts!
My main interests lie in the areas of generative or AI art, digital fabrication and DIY electronics. I teach at different universities/colleges and love to give talks and workshops!

My current projects are documented in a video series called "Work in Progress" every two weeks. I also draw a small picture every day - they are called "Schnipsel".

Tags: #art #generative #nifty

Countercomplex: Defining Computationally Minimal Art (Or, taking the "8" out of "8-Bit")

"The defining element is LOW COMPUTATIONAL COMPLEXITY, as expressed in all aspects of the audiovisual system: the complexity of the platform (i.e. the number of transistors or logic gates in the hardware), the complexity of the software (i.e. the length in bits of the program code and static data), as well as the time complexity (i.e. how many state changes the computational tasks require). A more theoretical approach would eliminate the differentiation of software and hardware and talk about description/program length, memory complexity and time complexity."

Tags: #80s #8bit #art #generative #graphics #music #retro

"This is my first test of having the Monome control some generative drawing along with the audio through this step sequencer I made in Flash similar to the original 64Steps."

Tags: #drawing #flash #generative #monome #nifty

Wired News: Letting New Sounds Out of the Bag

"The meme of "generative music" - music that can change or create itself through software - has gained currency in the wake of ambient guru Brian Eno's endorsement of generative software Koan Pro."

Tags: #eno #generative #music
