Why Clay Has an AI Writing Policy - The GTM with Clay Blog

As of 2026, AI models — despite their coding ability — are not yet at a point where their unedited output will achieve this goal; you as an author need to take the time to make sure that all of the ideas in the writing are the ideas that you personally intend to convey (including the structure and wording that determines which ideas are emphasized) and that the documents are a good use of your readers’ time.

Tags: #ai #llms #writing

On the Death of Amazon’s Writing Culture - by Steve Huynh

AI should definitely be used for brainstorming, organizing your thoughts, research, making sure your documents are consistent, and grammar. But, as we would say at Amazon, the human should always take the pen.

Tags: #ai #aidr #amazon #tech #writing

Introducing Flint - Recursive

We’re introducing Recursive Flint, a mixture-of-experts (MoE) model built for fast agentic coding on local hardware. Flint has 40 billion total parameters and activates just 2.5 billion per token. Our small team of people and agents built it from scratch in under four months.

Tags: #ai #codegen #flint #llms

This is not the pep talk anyone wants. The pep talk is that it’ll be fine, new jobs are coming, somebody’s got it handled, but that’s a lie.
a new model for open source: closed to pull requests, open to remix.

For what's the point of reading a pull request that's been generated by code? All I want is to read and understand the core idea. If it's a good idea, I might incorporate it back upstream, but there should be no expectation that I will.

You see, open source software is open source by definition because the license says that it's as is, and that as is permits you to remix software.

Tags: #ai #codegen #llms #opensource #oss

Grieving the loss of details | purplesyringa's blog

If anyone can point an LLM at slow code and it automatically finds a hot loop and uses a trick it found somewhere on the 'net to vectorize it, there is little point in hiring someone with a focus on that. If an LLM can analyze the code and explain pointer provenance to you and babysit you until you get it, there is little value in expertise.

I cannot use LLMs this way. I get almost physically ill when I work on a project with more source code files or at least general architecture than I can keep in my head, so I don’t get anything out of expanded scope.

Tags: #ai #godegen #llms

AI models may be capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter \ Anthropic

Our experiments suggest that small AI models may be months away from being capable enough to self-replicate on commercial IoT devices, like smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes. A replicator like this would be challenging to shut down, since there’s no centralized point to shut off - though it may be slow (with a doubling time of days). Unlike non-AI malware, it could also figure out unfamiliar devices on its own. In our evals, a 9B model got inference running on 8 of the 9 hardware types we tested.

Tags: #ai #botnets #llms #security #worms

Court Finds That Using Copyrighted Material as AI Training Data Is Not Fair Use

Now, the legal system is starting to show signs that the defense could be on thin ice. Last week, a US appeals court upheld a ruling that AI legal research company Ross Intelligence had broken copyright law by training its legal search engine on materials taken from Thomson Reuters’ Westlaw legal research platform and database.

Tags: #ai #copyright #legal #llms #ml

AI Didn’t Make Programming Easier. It Just Made It Differently Difficult – Communications of the ACM

AI does not, therefore, diminish the craft; it widens it, deepens it, and makes more of the work explicitly intellectual. The work becomes differently difficult because it demands more sophisticated forms of expertise: judgment over recall, architecture over syntax, orchestration over implementation. These are not easier skills to develop or demonstrate, they are simply different ones, and perhaps ultimately more demanding.

Tags: #ai #codegen #llms #work
